North

North is what most would call a gentle giant. He is rather solitary, and unlike most wild horses, harbours a strange love for humans, even though he refuses to be caught by them. He is extremely loyal and brave, willing to risk his life for those he cares about.

North was born as a tame horse, into a family of travelling gypsies. For the first few years of his life he lived with his mother and the humans, travelling across the forests.

He was ridden by a young man, who eventually grew bored of the gypsy ways. He did what he'd always wanted to do, and took North, both running away to join the circus. Their act became famous, as the gypsy boy had taught North how to count by pawing his foot to the number of fingers the boy would hold up.

They lived happily in the circus for awhile, until the circus had to take a trip on a boat to travel to a different country for their next show.

The ship never made it, sinking a few kilometres off the shore of a distant island due to rocks. Nearly all lives were lost. By a stroke of luck, North and his human managed to survive the initial crash, North jumping into the ocean with his master.

By the time they reached the shore of the island, the ship had fully sunk. North was exhausted, and his human had passed away along the journey from the cold and injuries.

Distraught at the loss of his master and scared in the unfamiliar terrain, North stayed by his master's body for weeks before finally leaving him on the shores and moving into the forests ahead to try and start again. He'll never forget his human though.

King Midas

Midas is largely untameable. He has a fiery personality, and resists any attempts to let anyone ride him, as he believes he is above that. He much rather prefers to be on his own, enjoying his own company. When in the company of others, he is sassy, well-spoken, dramatic, and makes a big deal out of pretty much everything he can. With a fear of germs and dirt, he is never seen dirty, and his coat is always kept shiny and clean.

Midas was born on a cloudless evening, in the royal stables of Arabia. He was born into a royal household, and was to be the horse of the prince. He grew up without his mother, who was taken from him by the royals and sold on. He led a largely solitary life after that, yet retained his regal statue at all times.

When the time came for the prince to ride him, the prince's attempts to break him in were fruitless, often resulting in the prince's injury. He'd buck off whoever dared to ride him, yet was perfectly sound and well-mannered on the ground. Midas has never let a human ride him, as he believes he is above being ridden by a human.

After knowing that he would never be tamed, the prince ordered for Midas to be sold off, like his mother was. The horses, including Midas, were transported to their new homes by train, but during the train ride, the train went off the rails.

Many of the horses were injured, and many were killed, but Midas was not amongst them. He escaped, running from the wreckage.

It is said that he still roams the sandy deserts of Arabia, rarely seen, often getting up to many mischievous adventures. When he is seen, feel free to go up to him, but if you try to ride him, be prepared to regret it.
